A place for students, educators and parents with an interest in Special Education, Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) and complementary alternative activities with a focus on horticulture.

Dr Teri Rouse is a Certified Autism Specialist. She also received her Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) certification from Penn State. She is an exceptionally experienced educator with over 20 years of direct classroom experience and is currently a professor at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia PA where she specializes in teaching Special Education to the next generation of Teachers.

She is a passionate proponent of  People First Language, PBIS (Positive Behavior  Intervention Support) and the use of horticulture activities to improve behavior and  increase the academic performance of children. 

The video “Kids, Plants & Learning” is the most simplistic representation of how a trained teacher and horticulture activities can make happy kids, teachers and parents.

Dr. Teri works with students in various community activities including the Chestnut Hill College Club of  The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), “Light It Up Blue” for Autism,  Walk Now for Autism Speaks: Philadelphia, and Lily’s Loop of The Lily’s Hope Foundation .  She is an advocate for people with disabilities through her association with the American Assiciation of People with Disabilities (AAPD) .
